Habilitation for the academic title of "docent" by the Central Interuniversitary Commission in Ankara/Turkey.

1st January 1992 -1st April 1996

Senior research associate at the Institute for Polymers & Organic Solids at the University of California , Santa Barbara   (Prof. Alan J. HEEGER, Nobel leaurate 2000 for Chemistry) in the fields of photoinduced optical, magnetic resonance and transport phenomena in semiconducting and metallic polymers.

1st September 1989 - 31st December 1991 :

Postdoctoral research associate at the 2nd. Physics Institute, of University of Stuttgart , Fed. Rep. of Germany, in the project "Molecular Electronics" SFB 329 of "Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft", c/o Prof. Michael MEHRING, with specialization on electron spin resonance (ESR), electron nuclear double resonance (ENDOR) and  photoinduced electron transfer on supramolecular structures.

1986 - 1989:

PhD study at the University of Vienna, Austria with promotion for Doctor of Science in physics. First supervisor Prof. Dr. Hans KUZMANY, at the Institute of Solid State Physics , second supervisor Prof. Dr. Adolf NECKEL at the Institute of Physical Chemistry . Topic of PhD thesis: " Spectroscopic investigations on the electrochemically induced metal to insulator transitions in polyaniline" with specialization on in situ  Optical, Raman and FTIR spectroscopy  during doping processes.

1980 - 1986:

Study of Physics at the University of Vienna, Austria with sponsion for Master of Science in physics. Topic of the master thesis: " Structural phase transitions in the ferroelectric potassium - dihydrogenphosphat"

1972 - 1980 :

Study and graduation at the Austrian Sankt Georg Kolleg in Istanbul , Turkey with distinction prize.

1970 - 1980:

Study of musics at the city music conservatory in Istanbul , Turkey (classical piano).

Awards, Prizes and Scholarships:

 

Awarded the Turkish National Science Prize 2006 (TUBITAK Bilim Ödülü)

 

Awarded with the “Energy Globe Oberösterreich” prize sponsored by the Oberösterreichische Nachrichten (October 2003).

 

Awarded with the „Grünpreis 2001“ sponsered by the Austrian Green Party, Upper Austria , given to the innovative research in environmental protection  (December 2001).

 

Thirtyninth placement in the University Entrance Examination in Turkey in 1980 among fivehundredfortyfivethousand competitors. Awards from several institutions like Turkiye Is Bankasi for that achievement.

 

Distinction prize with record average (9.92 out of 10) in Austrian Sankt Georg Kolleg graduation in 1980. In connection with this achivement, award of Ministery of Science and Technology in Austria with a full coverage fellowship for a whole University Study in Austria .
